Adams State University Athletics - Grizzlies to Compete at Nationals in Washington

The Adams State University Men's and Women's Cross Country teams will compete at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships in Spokane, Washington on Saturday, November 23.
 
Both the men and women won the 2013 NCAA South Central Regional.
 
The Lady Grizzlies claimed three of the top five spots to win the regionals. The Grizzlies finished with 28 points as a team with seven runners finishing in the top 20. Martin won first overall with a time of 21:14, earning her South Central Region Runner of the Year honors. The Grizzlies claimed the next two spots as senior, Kelly Lamb finished second with a time of 21:27 and senior, Alyssa Selve finished right behind Lamb with a time of 21:28. Sophomore, Melissa Roberts finished in ninth place with a time of 21:43. Redshirt freshman, Maura O'Brien finished in 13th place with a time 21:58. Freshman, Jenna Thurman ran a time of 22:06 for 16th place. Junior,Tayler Warren finished the course in 22:14 for 19th place.
 
Last season, the Lady Grizzlies finished third at the national championships.
 
The Men's Cross Country team won first place at the 2013 regionals.

The Grizzlies had seven runners finish in the top 25 for an overall team score of 31 points.
Led by the second place finish of senior, Jovanny Godinez, the Grizzlies had three of the top five runners. Junior, Kevin Batt finished in third place with an overall time of 30:21. In fourth place was junior, Tabor Stevens with a time of 30:21 as well. Sophomore, Kyle Masterson finished in ninth place with a time of 30:42. In 13th place,Julian Florez finished the course in 30:55. Senior, Naseem Haje finished with a time of 31:00 for 16th place. With a time of 31:20, redshirt freshman, Quin Ralstonfinished in the top 25 in 24th place.
